Which suppliers have to deal with the most deduction codes?

Walmart

Coming in strong with 69 deduction codes and counting! Walmart suppliers are training how to avoid some of these popular hurdles:

Code 22: Goods Billed Not Shipped - Arises when the quantity of an item on the invoice doesn’t match the quantity the facility says it received.
Code 24: Carton Shortage/Freight Bill Signed Short - Given when the facility receives an order but signs the BOL as short against the quantities the shipment was said to contain.
Code 25: Goods Not Received - Triggered when Walmart claims not to have received any merchandise for the invoice transmitted.
Code 94: Goods Returned/Defective Merchandise - Used when a customer returns an item or it’s considered defective merchandise.

Target

There is non-stop training going on for Target suppliers as they tackle 41 types of codes. Some common tackles they encounter:

Code A030: Carton Shortage - A manual deduction issued against an invoice for the difference between the invoice and receipt, due to carton shortages.
On Time - Late - A deduction (or violation, if still within its 2-week exemption window) for an order that has arrived late in the case of prepaid or was picked up late in the case of pickup/collect orders.
Fill Rate Revised - A deduction (or violation, if still within its 2-week exemption window) for an order that Target believes has the wrong received quantities compared to what was ordered.
Code A032: Damaged or Defective - A manual deduction issued against an invoice for the difference between the invoice and receipt, due to damaged or defective products.

While Amazon tries to keep it simple with 2 main deduction types and 9 chargeback types, its suppliers know that it is unfortunately not a sprint, more like a marathon.

Deduction Types:

Price Claim - Occurs when Amazon compares the supplier's invoice to the PO and identifies a price discrepancy on the invoice.
Shortage Claim - Created when Amazon can’t match the products a supplier shipped against their receipt records.

Team USA clinched their first gold medal for the 2024 Olympic Games in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.
