Although Report Builder is the primary tool available to Scintilla Basic users, there are still some datasets that are only available to Charter users. If you are a Basic user, you will see something like this at the bottom of your Report Builder screen:

A lot of these reports correspond to the visibility originally described by Walmart and outlined in the first section of this eBook as the differences between what was then referred to as Scintilla’s Basic and Charter.

Visibility into Purchase Orders and OTIF are available in other apps in Retail Link (NOVA and OTIF Scorecard, respectively), but the Omni Sales and Hourly Store Inventory reports are a part of what Walmart refers to as “Net New” assets in the app.

Featured Charter Datasets

These are the primary featured Charter datasets:

  • Hourly Store Inventory: Examine D-1 store inventory at GTIN level broken down by the hour.
  • Purchase Order: Examine Purchase Order data.
  • Omni Sales: Evaluate your store and eComm sales metrics from the last 104 weeks.
  • OMNI OTIF: Investigate your order fulfillment to DCs and FCs from the last 52 weeks.

Custom Attributes

Another big benefit of Charter for the Report Builder is the ability to create custom attributes. Not to be confused with Custom Datasets, Custom Attributes are the actual attributes that populate as a column of data when a report is pulled.

Creating custom attributes is helpful for drilling down deeper into performance data. It would be most helpful for suppliers with a large number of items shipping through many DCs to many stores in a variety of regions with a variety of traits.

Suppliers are allowed to create up to five custom attributes for each dataset.

Other Benefits of Charter

As well as allowing for the creation of custom attributes, Scintilla Charter has a whole suite of tools and apps designed to give greater insight into supplier performance.
