Remittance Advice (or EDI 820) is a message sent from a retailer to a supplier to confirm that a payment has gone through. These are visible in the MP-SSP under the Payments heading in the My Docs section on the left-hand side of the main dashboard. They can also be accessed through an EDI provider directly or via the PDF attachment sent to suppliers’ emails.

If looking for Remittance in MP-SSP, the parameters that will be most helpful to filter for are payment document number, invoice number, or payment data range.

Timing Remittance Advice

Home Depot says that remittance advice will be published in the form of a report three business days from the remittance date. Remittance detail in the MP-SSP portal is not updated in real time, so priority information will need to be found via EDI.

EDI and Remittance

To sign up for EDI remittance, Home Depot recommends having the supplier’s B2B team contact them for EDI 820 enrollment at b2b_production_support@homedepot.com.

If suppliers find a large volume of missing invoices, Home Depot recommends reviewing Open Items, EDI 997 (Functional Acknowledgement), 997R (Rejection), and 864 (EDI Rejection Error) notices.

To avoid any potential pricing exceptions, Home Depot also recommends that suppliers review the 531 SKU detail report. These are accessible through a Home Depot buyer/merchant.

Unknown Deductions and the Deductions Contact List

The Deduction Contact List shows the Non-AP issuing the deduction. It can be found in Supplier Hub Support:

Supplier Hub Support > Getting Paid > US Merchandise Payables > deductions

These email contacts can be essential for requesting more information on unknown deductions.

Company Codes

Company codes are internal segregations of data for banking requirements. The specific Company Code meanings are:

  • 1001 – US
  • 1029 – Puerto Rico
  • 1075 – HDPA
  • 1076 – Virgin Islands
  • 1148 – Guam

Document Types in the Remittance Advice File

There are three document types in the Remittance Advice File: Z0/RK, Z1, and ZP.

  • Z0/RK: Invoice Payments & Deduction Lines
  • Z1: Deductions (usually RTVs)
  • ZP: Clearing Doc/Automated Clearing House (ACH)
