Item Management Tools for Walmart

Oftentimes, the most difficult part of using Walmart’s Item Management System is understanding what functionality is available within Item 360, the newest item management tool, and legacy platforms. As functionality is moved over to Item 360, check out Walmart’s latest report on where certain functions are executed and if they plan to live in Item 360.

SETUP

Common Supplier Errors

The most common errors suppliers face are due to the haziness of Walmart’s expectations and parameters. Below are the most common errors and how to correct them.

Issued with Images
- Make sure all photos are .jpg, .png, or .bmp images.
- Make sure your GTIN matches your Supplier IDs.
- Make sure if multiple folders of images, each folder has a unique GTIN.
- Make sure your file size meets the guidelines listed for your category.

Missing Required Fields
- If you select the three dots when filing out online, Item 360 will automatically highlight the required fields. If you are filling out the template, make sure you note the color key on the Excel file that outlines which fields are optional or required.
Issues with GTIN
- An item with the same GTIN Exists in a Different Department.
- Ensure items are attached to the correct GTINs. Remember that a GTIN must represent only one product packaging level.
- Ensure the GTIN is printed correctly on the product.
- Review product images to ensure they are attached to the correct GTINs.
- Review retail differences for the same product.

Upload errors with Item 360 Template
- Exceeding the Character Limit will not allow your information to be submitted when uploaded to Item 360. The template does not have character limit validation, so it is recommended to write copy in a document with a character count.
GDSN Locked Fields
- Once an item is GDSN synchronized, the item dimensions attributes are locked from manual updates through Item 360. There are two options to update these fields:
- Update the attribute value to match what’s in GDSN and resubmit the spreadsheet in Item 360
- Make your changes in GDSN, push the data to Walmart, and create a new setup or maintenance spreadsheet for your request in Item 360
- Incorrect Product Identifier

GTINs and UPCs require check digits.
- Walmart Item Number, WIN, and WM# are the same.
- Setup spreadsheets only support GTINs.
- Maintenance spreadsheets only support GTINs and WINs.
- WUPCs will not be accepted in Item 360.
System Error
- Item 360’s Activity Manager will show a timeout or system error when the systems issues are internal. To file a case ticket with Walmart, file a ticket with Walmart’s instructions.

1WorldSync Errors
- Make sure you complete the playlist for Walmart in 1WS, validate and then publish it to the correct Walmart GLN. An error in those steps will cause a disconnect with Item 360.

Issues with WERCS
- WERCS is a subscription-based platform for all products containing a chemical, pesticide, aerosol, or battery. You must be registered with WERCSmart (WERCS) if our items include the above.
- Selecting that your products require WERCS within Item 360 will not allow further item setup until your assessment is complete. If you accidentally select WERCS, you’ll have to submit a ticket to reverse this selection.
